Problem with dissimilar actors 032623

I have a problem using Midjourney. I would like to place two dissimilar actors in a scene, while maintaining the integrity of each actor, but I have been unable to do so. What happens instead is that MJ conflates attributes from both actors and then distributes such resulting conflated attributes to the two actors, making each a mashup, rather than retaining its distinct identity.

For example, I can generate images with a voodoo doll actor and it looks as I intend; I can likewise generate images with an electric jellyfish actor and it looks as I intend. However this kind of prompt is proving problematic for me: “an electric jellyfish is chasing a voodoo doll on the beach under a bright sky”. As shown below, each actor is now some awkward mix of doll and jellyfish—which is not at all what I want.

I have attempted this kind of generation with many varied actors, but every time I get this kind of mashup. For example here is a prompt I wrote to explicitly demand the actors be treated individually. “A kachina and a giant electric jellyfish are two distinct and separate entities. They are dancing in the desert in a thunderstorm. Sand dunes, rocks, with mountains in the background.” As below, it did not help.

Hopefully, I can find a solution that will allow me to use dissimilar actors. Lacking that is a serious handicap for pursuing my work.
